JSA and Crime Stoppers Launch Gun Bounty Program
In an effort to get guns off our streets, Valley Crime Stoppers has launched a new Gun Bounty Program. JSA partnered with Crime Stoppers to produce the multi-media campaign.
The Gun Bounty program doubles the reward if a firearm is seized during the arrest of a wanted criminal. The Crime Stoppers program is an anonymous tip line community members can call and report wanted fugitives. Upon arrest, the reward can be up to $1,000. Under the Gun Bounty program, the reward increases to up to $2,000.
The campaign conveys a united front for the Gun Bounty program that transcends city and county lines, incorporating all law enforcement organizations throughout the Central Valley.
A Project Safe Neighborhoods Federal Grant - US District Attorney's Office, Eastern California Division, made the campaign possible.
A special thanks to all of the partners for the television commercial including:
Sheriff Margaret Mims - Fresno County Sheriff's Department
Sheriff John Anderson - Madera County Sheriff's Department
Chief Janet Davis - Clovis Police Department
Chief Jerry Dyer - Fresno Police Department
Elizabeth Egan - Fresno County District Attorney
Chief Jim Abrames - California Highway Patrol, Central Division
